Weapon Styles
Familiarity with the use of a class of weapons in physical conflict. Basic training in
a weapon style allows the character to add to the basic chance to hit listed for that
weapon in the attack tables, to utilize weapons from that style in the performance of
appropriate combat tactics and to increase the efficiency with which those weapons are
wielded. Advanced training in hand-held weapons styles provides additional combat
percentage bonuses and may make additional, more complex, tactics available for that
weapon style.
Each weapon style is listed below, immediately followed by a list of the weapons wielded
in that style. The Weapon Damage Type used for Bash and Critical damage assessments
follows or, where more than one WDT is involved, listed along with the weapons themselves.
The tactics available with the weapon style are listed by level
of training. Finally, a table is provided indicating the additional number of events per
combat turn provided by the weapon style training by the wielder's Combat or Dexterity
score (as indicated).
(Optional Rule)
Advanced Training in a Weapon Style allows an individual familiar with a weapon to
defend himself from it more easily. Advanced Training is defined for weapon styles as that
training in excess of the first level. It is often represented by the equation "( Lvl
- 1 )". For each level of Advanced training possessed by an individual facing a
weapon from that style - reduce his enemies "to-hit" percentage by -5%.
