Natural Weapons

This weapon table is NOT FOR PLAYER USE. These values are for use by semi-intelligent "monsters" and include standard Combat and Skill advantages - simplifying GM tasks for these creatures.

Relative Size Comparison

Giant Elephant 1500+ lbs.
Large Horse 250-1500 lbs.
Medium Man 90-250 lbs.
Small Dog 40-90 lbs.

Number of Blows listed is for use of a single weapon. Most natural weapons, however, are used in combined attacks (e.g. left & right).

Left and Right Claw Pincers or Fist attacks treat the second weapon like the off-hand weapon in two weapon combats so the effective blow rate is 1.5 X that listed (plus any bonuses).

Claw/Claw/Bite is a common pattern amongst cats and other similar hunting creatures. Use 2 X the listed blow rate for the claw (plus any bonuses). The bite will generally only be used after two consecutively successful claw attacks.

A Four Claw attack pattern is similar to the Claw/Claw/Bite except a two claw raking attack is made with the hind legs instead of the Bite. Use 2 X the listed blow rate for the claw (plus any bonuses). After two consecutively successful claw attacks make a claw attack with 2 X damage if successful.

Dragons and other intelligent beasts can often use their natural weapons indiscriminately at will. Use 2 X the listed blow rate for the claw (plus any bonuses). Any weapon can be used for any blow.

Vigor listed for those natural weapons used by beasts is a common value for such attacks. If a Vigor value exists for the combatant, use that value instead when Vigor is called for in determining bash effects of these weapons.
