Hamstring Maneuver

Here's a potentially deadly one - to the character doing it. The goal of this maneuver is to dismount a mounted enemy by crippling the animal he's riding. Specifically, the attacker slides up beneath and behind the mount. With a quick stroke of his trusty knife (should be a sharp fighting blade of 8-18" inches in length) he severs the tendons connecting the hamstring muscles of a hind leg to the bone. Then, he scurries quickly out from under the falling mount and rider.

Begin with a Stealth (D4) test to get into the proper position without getting kicked by the mount.  Failure indicates that the character has been kicked/stomped, continue as if the mount had made a successful attack.

Follow that test with an attack to cripple the mount. The blow is made using the combat table percentages for the weapon +Combat + 2½% per level of advanced training to hit. Fully half of such hits are Critical, treat all "odd" location rolls as a critical hit. To be truly successful, the character will have to manage a critical hit, do appreciable damage and make the necessary "disable" roll.

Finally, follow with a Dexterity (D3) roll to escape being fallen upon by the mount and/or its rider.
